Soubois Rosé

AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret

Complex fruit, plenty of texture, elegant freshness and great length this oak-fermented Syrah-based rosé has enough character to be extremely food-friendly.

Interesting to encounter a rosé with this much personality and capacity to age.

Tasting Notes

Copper-pink in colour and intensely aromatic with resonating red berries. The palate is fruity, cool and mouth-filling. There are hints of spice and smoke with a slight herbaceous bitterness on the finish.
This rosé was created to go with food. The fruit-acid balance and the fuller body with a touch of tannin makes it friendly to dishes from all seasons such as smoked anchovies, ratatouille and a festive turkey or salmon.

Syrah can be a fruit bomb in rosé, but here, fermented and aged in barrels, it has depth and structure. A classic pale salmon pink colour with fruit forward, sweet ripe red berry aromas. On the palate, the Syrah is given full reign to express exuberant juicy, sweet red fruit, ripe, round and rich, balanced by excellent, long, fresh acidity. As the wine opens up, the character of Rhone Syrah emerges with some serious weight and notes of violets, cranberries, and some delicately fine, mineral tannins and a saline twist from the oak. This is a serious wine." salmon pink colour with fruit forward, sweet ripe red berry aromas. The 2024 Côtes Du Rhône Villages Seguret Soubois Rose reveals a light salmon hue and offers savory cherry and strawberry notes intermixed with chalky minerality and floral rose nuances. Based on 75% Syrah and 25% Grenache and aged in demi-muids with weekly bâtonnage for six months, it's medium-bodied, pure, fresh, and focused, with nicely integrated acidity and a clean finish. Drink 2025-2028.

Note : 16,5/20
Quite soft and gentle on the palate with no shortage of fruit and flavour but this is drier, more interesting and food-friendly than many rosés. Fruit-acid balance just right and the acid tastes natural. No desperate hurry to drink this. It has a smidgeon of tannin.

The 2023 Côtes Du Rhône Villages Séguret Soubois Rosé is a medium ruby-hued blend of 75% Grenache and 25% Syrah that was brought up in demi-muids. Spiced cherries, flowers, and some dried herb notes all define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with nicely integrated background oak and a clean, dry finish. It's geared for the dinner table.
