Une robe jaune vert, le nez délicat aux arômes floraux subtils avec des pointes rappelant les pêches et les abricots. Un vin d’une belle rondeur avec des notes finales de miel et d’agrumes.

À déguster en apéritif mais aussi avec un large éventail de plats légers, salades composées et fromages.

35% Grenache Blanc, 25% Roussanne, 15% Marsanne, 15% Viognier, 10% Clairette and Bourboulenc – 25 to 30 years old. 40 hl/ha. Very zesty as well as broad and satisfying with a slightly salty edge. Very well done. And I’m tasting it far too warm! I’d guess the malo was suppressed. Honeysuckle and herbs.

The 2016 Côtes du Rhône Blanc La Source is a terrific white offering attractive pear, apple blossom and hints of minerality. It’s lively, fresh, impeccably balanced and is a perfect starter white to drink over the coming year or two. The blend is Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette, and Bourboulenc.

Mourchon’s 2016 Cotes du Rhone la Source is a blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Viognier, Marsanne, Clairette and Bourboulenc vinified in stainless steel. It’s medium-bodied and fleshy, filled with pear and pineapple fruit, but backed by crisp acids and a long finish. It should drink well for a few years.

Assertive herbal nose and quite powerful body on the palate. Floral notes – definite fruit and not just fermentation. More distinctive than the rosé from this address – although presumably this is from fruit grown somewhere other than on the domaine.

40% Viognier, 20% Grenache Blanc, 20% Roussanne/Marsanne, 20% Clairette/Burboulenc. Vines 25-30 year-old wines at 40 hl/ha. Négoce label. Complex, rich nose that has a streak of honeysuckle struggling to get out from under the smell of low temperature fermentation aromas – which I would guess it would manage by about October 2013. Broad and lemony and it tastes very slightly sweet but I would guess this is because of the first two grapes rather than because it actually contains residual sugar. Carefully made, very juicy. Probably better with (salty?) food than as an aperitif.

A beautiful white that is a blend of 55% Viognier, 25% Roussanne, and the balance a mix of Bourboulenc and Clairette, the 2011 La Source offers clean, fresh aromas of juiced pears, Meyer lemon, crisp pineapple, and hints of flowers that flow to a medium-bodied, pure, and classically focused palate. There is plenty of richness here, yet it stays remarkably light and clean, with integrated acidity and a dry finish. Classy stuff that can stand on its own or complement a meal, it will drink well for 3-4 years.

A serious white that has real cut and edge, the 2010 Domaine de Mourchon Côtes du Rhône Blanc La Source, 55% Viognier, 25% Roussanne, and the remainder Bourboulenc and Clairette, starts out tight and angular, but blossoms with air (a quick decant is recommended) and shows beautiful stone fruits, peach, underbrush, and wet rock/flint like minerality on the nose. Medium-bodied and rich, yet very focused and pure, with brilliant acidity and a classy feel, this straight up outstanding Côtes du Rhône Blanc should be purchased by the case, and consumed over the following year or two.

A classic blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah that’s aged all in concrete tank, the 2010 Domaine de Mourchon Côtes du Rhône shows the quality of vintage with deep, red and black fruit driven aromas giving way to more subtle mineral, herb, licorice, and pepper nuances with air. This soft, supple, and beautifully balanced Côtes du Rhône has loads of fruit and texture, yet also holds on to considerable freshness, purity, and poise. Enjoy this beauty over the coming 2-4 years.
