An Evolving Range

The Domaine de Mourchon range of wines continues to grow. Our initial range of three wines, the Grande Reserve and Tradition reds, and the Loubié rosé has grown in recent years to include a Chateauneuf-du-Pape, two special cuvée limited edition reds, a white wine and an entry level Côtes-du-Rhône red.

It all began with Tradition

Our very first wine and still our best seller is our Côtes-du-Rhône Séguret Tradition red..., a classic Côtes du Rhône Villages red, blending Grenache and Syrah grapes and matured in unlined concrete casks.

Our oak conditioned Grande Reserve again blends Grenache and Syrah, this time afrom our oldest vines, and has consistently received excellent reviews from the world's best wine critics.

Add to that our rosé, Loubié, blending Grenache and Syrah with Cinsault to produce the ideal wine for Provençal aperitifs, but a wine of enough depth and complexity to also accompany a wide range of foods.

As the range developed, we added an entry level Côtes-du-Rhône. This is a typical simple Rhône blend offered at a competitive price for easy drinking. Ideal for barbecues or 'steak frîtes'.

Special Cuvées

In 2005 we added a sincle varietal special cuvée - the Family Reserve produced in very limited quantity from our oldest Grenache vines. We don't make it every year and even when we do, when the Grenache is at its best, it's in very small quantities. grapes are hand-picked and barrel fermented to produce this limited edition special wine.

The year after, we added a Syrah based Family Reserve too. It too is made only in top years, again in very small, controlled quantities, all by hand.

Our Family Reserves very rarely make it out of the country. Come to the vineyard to try and buy!

Chateauneuf-du-Pape Red / Côtes-du-Rhône Blanc

2011 sees the introduction of two more wines - a Chateauneuf-du-Pape red of very exciting quality, and a fresh and lively Côtes-du-Rhône White.

We're cery excited about both of these wines and will be updating this page shortly, as more information (tasting notes etc.) comes on-line.
