August 2010 - Mourchon Review
2008 Domaine de Mourchon Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret Family Reserve Grenache: A serious wine that competes with anything coming out of the southern Rhône, the 2008 Domaine de Mourchon Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret Family Reserve Grenache is loaded with black cherry fruit, peppered steak, garrigue, spice box and floral aromatics. Over the evening, this fleshes out beautifully, showing fantastic complexity paired with edgy, fresh fruit. The wine is medium to full bodied with a gorgeously smooth, silky texture, perfect balance, fresh acidity, and a clean, focused finish. I love the blend of solid underlying structure paired with fresh, yet ripe fruit. Drink this beauty over the next 10 to 12 years. 93 |
